Sports
Sports are a big part in my life as they were a big part of my upbringing. I feel my love for sports don't only come from my upbringing, but more of the fact of breaking stereotypes. Growing up learning about women's lack of rights, or in this case, lack of acceptance of participation in co-ed or women sport leagues in the past, really motivated me to do so. I have participated in Cypress High School volleyball, softball, and soccer team for both my freshman and sophomore years. During my second season of playing volleyball, I was also a part of Santa Cruz County Tritons Cheerleading Squad. All sports strengthened my communication and athletic skills. Both of these being important as it helps with my physical well being and it helps make interactions with the general public easier. |

Ethics bowl
During my junior year of highschool, I participated in the 2019 regional and invitational ethics bowl. The difference between the two is that regionals, all teams are competing for a spot to compete at a national level in North Carolina. While invitational is merely a practice for newcomers interested in the debate world.
Now the order in which i participated was flipped. We attended regionals before invitationals, so our first competition was a flop. But, when competing in invitationals, since we had an 'unfair advantage' of already experiencing the ethics bowl realm, so we were able to win 2 out of the 3 rounds of debating. I am so happy I was able to get to experience this world of debate with my fellow classmates and I am so proud of us. |
